“Jim, our Northern Outfitters Parkas and Vaetrex liners have really made a huge difference for us this year. We were the only ones in the world prepared for the cold temperatures at the World Cups in Korea. ….Thanks, Northern Outfitters has really kept us warm!!!!!!”

“Sorry I haven’t been in touch as its been all go here with lots of ups
and downs. Training was going great until I busted some ribs. Then
we had an earthquake, then Mount Redoubt threatened to blow
her top…shit happens.
Then came the Tustumena 200 Dog Sled Race, the toughest 200
race on earth. I pulled through with my busted ribs, started with
11 dogs and finished in 12th place out of a field of 17, still with 11
dogs, so I was very happy with that. The gear was second to
none, your Northern Outfitters Wind Anorak saved my life on the second
night and the mitten system was excellent. GO TEAM NORTHERN OUTFITTERS!!
“It’s amazing the folks that show up here in thin ski gear and freeze solid. When I loan them my Northern Outfitters EXP Parka or a pair of Northern Outfitters Mountain Pack Boots they cannot believe how comfy they are at 10? below. We really appreciate your support and feel honored to promote your products and hope to continue to spread the good word about Northern Outfitters for years to come.”

A few weeks ago I was down in Tallahassee, Fl visiting my old friend Jimmy Jack Keen, with the intent to drive up to the Southern Legends Plantation in Attapulgus GA, just outside of Bainbridge (which is like saying “just outside of nowhere”) to shoot some South Georgia quail, drink some single malt Scotch, and smoke a couple of Cuban cigars. Sounds kinda nice, don’t it? I can HIGHLY recommend the show that Ronnie Boyce and Gerry Goodson, the owners of Southern Legends, put on. The food was outstanding, the accomodations, while not Thomasville plantation style (or price!) were comfortable and homey, the company was exceptional, and the shooting was outstanding! They can be found at www.southernlegendsplantation.com–pay them a visit. The morning started out perfectly–clear and cold–around 20F–just right for my Northern Outfitters CamoEXP waterproof/breathable Parka and Vaertex O liner. I was perfectly comfortable and the birds were cold enough to be flying really well. The night before around the campfire I had heard about the “Attapulgus Still” so after the last shots were fired in anger, we took the 4wheelers to the back side of the property, along Attapulgus Creek, where in the 20’s an 30’s, the local bootleggers ran what was reported to be the largest moonshine still in South Georgia. Seems the revenuers finally took offence, and in the early 40’s raided the place and broke up the operation, leaving the old boiler and bits and pieces lying around, full of axe holes, where they can still be seen today. Worth a visit. And for all you geologists, Attapulgus is also the home of Attapulgite, one of the key ingredients in kitty litter. Another fine reason to visit!
